Tension In the city
Thousands of people joinned the demos today in Thessaloniki.
However police didnot allow for this to go on.
one of the two anarchist demos, the one organised by the black block, which over than 3000 people joined headed out of the universities but didnot manage to move on.
At Syntrivani 100 meters away from th university, there where fireworks shot to the journalists who were situated on the teraces of several blocks of flats. later and once riot started with attacks on stores, the block reached the blocks of the other protesters. riot police appeared and started shooting chemicals, from every row, towards the protesters.
the block was broken into to parts and people started running towards the University, while chemicals were thrown all the time.
people were panicking and running and an ambulence was making its way through the people, in order to help a block who was seriously injured in the foot.
the rest of the demo headed towrds aristotelous street surrounded by cops. the chemicals continued to fall and reached the rest of the blocks that started falling apart not being able to handle the situation. the demo of the anti-authoritarian movement was attacked by the cops and fell apart.
at the moment, many protestors are injured, while the number of people arrested is still unknown.
thousands of people are in the University, while University Authorities are discussing the possibility of withdrawing public sanctuary (legally, asylum).
in the centre of the city spirits are tensed, and thousands of cops are everywhere, while the smell of the chemicals is still around. the police helicopter is flying above and all around, making things even more tensed. noone knows what will happen
